Election Details
Polls Open 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Important Dates and Information:
- The City/School Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4.
- Polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
- Absentee ballot request forms can be submitted now for the City/School Election.
- The first day absentee ballots can be mailed is Wednesday, October 15.
- Absentee voting in-person will begin on Wednesday, October 15, at the Election Office.
- The deadline to submit an absentee ballot request form, to receive a MAILED ballot, is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20. Absentee ballot request forms must be in the office by 5:00 p.m. Postmarks do not count!
- The pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 20.
- Absentee voting in-person will end at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3.
- Voted absentee ballots must be received in the Election Office by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Voters casting their absentee ballot pursuant to UOCAVA or Safe at Home should review their absentee ballot instructions for additional guidance.
Voter Registration
Pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2025. Persons wishing to participate in this election who register to vote after October 20, 2025, will be required to provide proof of identification (i.e. current and valid photo identification card with an expiration date), AND proof of residency in their voting precinct, when they go to the polls on election day, or when they request an absentee ballot. Other provisions may also apply. Persons not registered to vote by October 20, 2025, should expect a longer processing time at the polls on election day.
Absentee Ballots
Absentee Ballot Request Forms will be accepted beginning Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Ballots will be available to be mailed and vote in-person beginning Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
- The last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed to a voter for this election is Monday, October 20, 2025. (Postal delivery is now two to five days each way.)
- In-person absentee voting in the office of the Adair County Auditor opens at 8:00 a.m on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
- In-person absentee voting in the office of the Adair County Auditor closes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025.
- Requests for absentee ballots must be in writing and should be mailed or delivered to:

Voted absentee ballots returned by mail MUST be returned no later than 8:00 p.m. on ELECTION DAY, Tuesday, November 4, 2025 to be considered on time to be counted.
Extended Hours
Extended hours are available for voter registration and absentee voting in the Adair County Auditor’s Office. In addition to regular hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., extended office hours during the 2025 city/school election season will be as follows:
- Thursday, September 18 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 23- 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, October 6 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, October 20 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Friday, October 31 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 4 - 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.* or later, depending on election activities
- Monday, November 17 - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Recount Request Deadline)
