Treasurer's Title Clerk #1

With specific direction from the Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer, assists the public with motor vehicle titles and registrations, tax collections, and driver's license issuance, testing, and record keeping. Also responsible for balancing the daily work flow. Ordering supplies, plates, and registration, also keep the counter form stocked.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs vehicle license renewals and title issuance, records and releases liens, records junking and storing of vehicles and moving of vehicles into and out of the county. 
  2. Processes motor vehicle renewals, titles, liens, and other motor vehicle business received by mail. 
  3. Performs driver's license issuance testing (written and set up test on computer), and record keeping. 
  4. Perform drives test and dept re-exam (oral and drive).
  5. Run the obsolete title report and pull active title, write the information and file (daily).
  6. Fill out and send in monthly drivers' license drive sheet to drivers' license supervisor. 
  7. Log medical and vision report for drivers license and mail when needed. 
  8. Collects taxes at the counter or by mail and posts payments to computerized records. 
  9. Changing address from tax stubs. 
  10. Performs daily balancing of office transactions as directed or needed.
  11. Doing excel sheets monthly.
  12. Moves cartons of vehicle plates and supplies from basement as directed or needed. 

(PHI) that is obtained, handled, learned, heard or viewed in the course of work or association with the county. Report any use or disclosure of PHI that violates the HIPPA privacy provisions following Adair County's reporting procedures.

Entry Qualifications

Ability to type, calculate, alphabetize, and file. Computer experience is necessary.
