Your health and safety is important. Please see the resources available to Adair County residents.

Health and Safety

  • A curfew is still in place from 10 p.m. through 7 a.m. daily. This is for your safety as we restore streetlights around town.
     
  • Adair County Medical Clinic services are available at the elementary school 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. Please enter on the west side of the building. The ACHS Stuart Clinic is also available to treat minor injuries during the week. Primary providers are available by appointment. More info: achsiowa.org.
     
  • Mental health services are available at the elementary school from several providers. 
     
  • Seek tetanus prevention for wounds. Tetanus shots are available at:
    • The ACHS Clinic at NV Elementary from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. M-F and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sat.
    • The NuCara Pharmacy in Greenfield
    • GRMC (Greenfield Medical Clinic)
       
  • Keep the roadways safe and accessible by ensuring they are free of debris. Park personal vehicles in a driveway or away from the disaster area.
     
  • Wear protective clothing (gloves, safety glasses, closed toed shoes) while cleaning up debris.

Proclamation of Disaster Emergency

Governor Reynolds has authorized a Proclamation of Disaster Emergency for Adair County, activating the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and Disaster Case Advocacy Program. The Iowa Individual Assistance Program provides up to $5000 to eligible households with incomes up to 200% of the federal poverty level. The Disaster Case Advocacy Program works with individuals to address serious needs related to injury or hardships caused by a disaster.
